983 Camosun Crescent B, Kamloops, BC V2C 6G1, this full-time permanent position offers a consistent Monday to Friday schedule, ensuring 40 hours per week with no weekend shifts.
Why this role matters
The
Senior Inside Sales Representative plays a key role in driving branch success by strengthening customer and supplier relationships, delivering accurate quotations, sales orders, and returns, and supporting the achievement of sales targets. Working closely with Outside Sales and the Branch Manager, this position helps ensure an exceptional customer experience, proactively resolves issues, and supports the successful execution of ongoing projects.
What To Expect In The Role
- Customer Relations: Provides exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries, processing requests, and supporting customers and sales teams. Assists with front-counter sales, builds customer relationships, provides product recommendations, and maintains current product knowledge
- Quotations: Prepares accurate and timely quotations, pricing, and product proposals. Maintains customer pricing and ensures pricing aligns with margin objectives and customer requirements.
- Project Management: Supports ongoing projects, contracts, and quotations through coordination, follow-up, and issue resolution. Escalates complex pricing, order, or project-related matters as required.
- Order Entry and Management: Processes and manages customer orders received through various channels, ensuring accuracy and timely updates. Maintains customer records and contact information.
- Stock Monitoring: Monitors inventory availability, investigates stock discrepancies, and communicates potential impacts to customers and internal stakeholders. Recommends new inventory items based on customer demand.
- Shipping: Coordinates shipments using approved carriers, arranges cost-effective transportation, tracks deliveries, and ensures shipping requirements are met.
- Return Material Authorization: Manages the return process by coordinating with customers and suppliers, processing return authorizations, resolving return-related issues, and ensuring appropriate charges are applied.
- Sales Monitoring: Monitors sales activity, open orders, and pricing opportunities. Collaborates with sales teams to support revenue growth, improve margins, and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Quality Control: Identifies and documents quality concerns, supports corrective actions, assists in resolving operational issues, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
Ideal candidate profile
- 10+ years of sales and customer service experience
- 7+ years of electrical/lighting industry experience in a similar role
- Electrical/lighting product knowledge is a must
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Office) with the ability to learn new software programs
- Wide range of expertise in the products and services provided by E.B. Horsman & Son
- Basic mathematical skills
