Renewal and payment timing

Invoices are sent at the end of November, with payment due December 31. If payment has not been received before January 15, a $25 late charge is added. Tell the City if the business has closed so it can remove the account.

Pay through MyCity, the City online payment service, mail or the office at 105 Seymour Street. Bank payment also works, but use the bank’s Kamloops business-licensing payee and the current licence account number, not a utility or tax account.

Paperless records and account setup

For MyCity, create or open a profile and verify a new one using the emailed code. Add each licence using its account number and access code, found on an older invoice or requested from business@kamloops.ca, then select eBilling.

Payment must reach the City by the due date. A bank transaction started on the due date may arrive later; check the bank’s processing period and verify the current invoice number before paying.

Inter-community mobile work

An ICBL is a secondary licence for eligible mobile businesses operating in two or more participating communities. A primary licence in one partner community comes first. Apply to the community that issued that primary licence.

The page lists Barriere, Chase, Clearwater, Kamloops, Lillooet, Logan Lake, Merritt and Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc as possible partners. Existing businesses identify ICBL in the application’s activity description; new businesses add “and ICBL” to their completed description. Ask Business Licensing at 250-828-3481 about eligibility and the applicable bylaw fee.
