Register and keep the lifetime tag
A new dog must be registered in person at the Mission Flats Community Services Office, 1303 Mission Flats Road. Listed hours are weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding statutory holidays. Bring the breed, sex, sterilization status, colour and microchip or tattoo details.
The issued tag lasts for the dog’s lifetime, but annual payment is due January 1. Standard fees are $30 for a spayed or neutered dog and $65 otherwise. Replacement tags are $15. Late renewal adds $32.50.

Renew and update the account
Renew through MyCity using the renewal-notice information, or at one of the City-listed renewal counters. Keep email and address details current. For a sterilization change, send the certificate to communityservices@kamloops.ca or take it to the main office.
If the dog dies, contact 250-828-3409 or the same email; the City says proof is not required. An outside municipality’s licence is not valid in Kamloops, but a replacement for a currently licensed out-of-town dog costs $15.

More than two dogs
Two dogs may be registered at one address. A third-dog variance needs an in-person application, government-issued identification and a non-refundable $350 fee. Approval follows review; payment alone does not approve the extra dog.
Dogs must wear tags. If an active tag is not worn, staff can check the account, but the page says a $100 fine may be issued. Keep the licence record and physical identification current.
